Wimbledon starts next week, and will be played over 14 days from Monday 1 - Sunday 14 July.
Lifting a Wimbledon trophy is the ultimate dream for any tennis player. These iconic prizes represent years of dedication and the pinnacle of sporting achievement.
• The Gentlemen's Singles trophy, introduced in 1887, is a silver-gilt cup (18 inches tall) awarded to the winner. Unlike earlier trophies, this one remains Club property. Champions receive a replica to keep.
• The Ladies' Singles trophy, also known as the Rosewater Dish, is a large (18.75 inch diameter) silver platter decorated with mythological figures. It features Temperance in the centre, surrounded by other gods and depictions of the seven liberal arts. Champions receive a smaller replica.
• The Gentlemen's Doubles Trophy is a silver challenge cup for the Gentlemen's Pairs' competition. The Ladies' Doubles Trophy is an elegant silver cup and cover, known as The Duchess of Kent Challenge Cup. The Mixed Doubles Trophy is a silver challenge cup and cover presented to the All England Club by the family of the late S.H. Smith. S.H. Smith won the doubles title in 1902 and 1906, in partnership with the late F.L. Riseley.
